Located on the Colorado Plateau, the Grand Canyon reveals a massive geological record exposed in the sheer scale of its colorfully bedded rocks and deep gorges. Its great size, plus the mighty Colorado River, make the Grand Canyon one of North America’s most impressive natural wonders and a premier landmark of the United States.
